Colorbook 1.0: what's new, and what stays free

Colorbook is out of beta. The short version: nothing that was free has been taken away, the free tier got bigger, and there are now optional plans for the parts that cost real money to run.

Published 5 October 2026 · 4 min read · from the team behind Colorbook, a free digital SAT practice tool.

Everything you used during the beta is still free, and the free AI allowance has gone from 10 credits a day to 25, for everyone, for good. What is new on top is optional: plans that add more AI for students who want it, priced to cover what the AI costs to run.

What stays free

What is new for everyone

Colorbook AI

A chat that already knows your goal, your test date and how every paper went. Ask it what to work on tonight and it answers from your own results. It keeps separate chats, starting a fresh one after a break, and it says so when it cannot see something rather than guessing.

Your Plan and the score projection

A new tab that tells you what to do next. The projection draws a line through your full mock scores and carries it to test day, with the range it is confident of. It refuses to guess from too little: with less than ten days between your first and last mock, it shows where you are instead of where you are heading.

The night before

The evening before your test gets its own screen, and starting a full paper in the last twelve hours asks whether sleep might be the better revision. It usually is.

What the optional plans add

The plans exist because some features call large AI models, and those cost money every time they run. They add more of that AI; they do not unlock anything that used to be free.

Outside Thailand you pay a fixed price in your own currency, shown on the plans page: Plus is US$1.99 a month in the United States, for example.

Deep Dive is the headline. Get a question wrong and Colorbook AI PRO turns it into a three-minute lesson: your working replayed, the trap taken apart choice by choice, then three new practice questions — one worked through with Colorbook AI beside you, one on your own, and a harder one — with an analysis of how you worked each. How to review a question you got wrong explains the method behind it.

Colorbook Tutor is a tutor you talk to. It sets questions one at a time, watches how you answer, and highlights the phrase that matters as it explains. Only the time you spend talking counts against your minutes.

You can cancel in one press from the same page you signed up on, and what you paid for runs to the end of its period.

Where the money goes

Plans are priced low on purpose. After the AI itself and the card fees, what is left goes into the shared pool that pays for everyone's 25 free credits a day.

Is Colorbook still free?
Yes. The question bank, every practice mode, full mock exams, the diagnostic, a weekly full report, Your Plan and 25 AI credits a day are all free. Paid plans only add more AI.
Do I need to pay to take a full mock exam?
No. Full-length adaptive mocks are free, and you do not need an account to sit one.
What is a Deep Dive?
A three-minute lesson on one question you got wrong, written by Colorbook AI PRO from how you actually worked it, followed by three practice questions and an analysis of how you did.
